Under the role of Quality Management Consultant in the frame of the Technical Consultant Services in Athens Metro within years 2003 to 2007, OMEK SA contributed in developing the ATTIKO METRO SA Quality Procedures regarding the Designs and Supervision Processes of the Project.
This concluded in the development of QMS Procedures for the Design and Construction of the Attiko Metro Projects, incorporating the Contract Requirements, the Public Works Law provisions, in Correlation to Best Practices already exercised by the Attiko Metro Staff. These QMS Procedures consisted of:
Innovative practice followed by the OMEK SA Consultants was the mobilization of almost all Metro Engineers through Working Groups, analyzing each separate Procedure and Work Instruction. A series of consecutive Workshops took place, starting from general analysis of each individual procedure, concluding into draft document circulation, reviewing, and reporting to the Organization Management and finalizing. All final Procedures and Working Instructions were presented through Training Seminars to all authorized Attiko Metro Staff.
Important feature of the Attiko Metro QMS was the established Works Breakdown Structure (WBS). This facilitated in developing an appropriate Drawing Office Manual for the ATTIKO METRO organization which assisted the Drawings traceability in a heavily loaded system of approved designs.
The document produced was named as “Specification for Drawing Office Manual, Project Work Breakdown Structure and Equipment Codification”,
